Baking Techniques for Resin Clay Projects and Brass Stencils-Part Two

 This Jewelry Clay pendant looks wonderful, is light weight and it was so easy to make!
 This is where we left off from yesterday's post.  I was using baby powder in the same way bakers use flour with pie crust.
I let my clay pendant covered in Pearl-Ex cure overnight.
 Today I added some acrylic paints to age my pendant.
 This paint technique I learned from Claudine Hellmuth.  I apply paint and then I use a paper towel to soak up the excess.  By doing this several times I can age my piece with brand new paint mediums.

My Pearl-Ex powders still provide the sheen.  I did tell you I made holes in the clay when it was still moist. It cured with these easy to attach to openings already in place.

    When you use the power to keep the clay from stocking do you brush it off before putting the mica powder on? Or do the powder not really stick to the clay?

    The baby powder does cling a little, but I did such a fast impression and brushed it away quickly. The next time I do this I am going to try coating the back of the stencil with something else like a clear stamping pad ink. Anywhere Pearl ex didn't coat I knew I would get to with the acrylic paint later.
