Easter Island Flower Pots - With Resin Castings!

Ta Da!
My weekend project was a success and I am so excited to share my very cool new flower pot with you!
On Friday I posted that I had some EasyCast resin curing in a mold for a project.

This silicone ice cube tray was one I had not experimented with yet and I was really happy with my results!  I may need to track down a second tray to actually make ice in.
The characters are based on the famous Easter Island statues.
I bought my flower pot over the weekend (3.99) and glued my heads to it.  Then I sprayed silver paint over everything to get my new uniform colouring.  The spray paint I used was good for wood, plastic and other surfaces.

In closing, my favorite Easter Island character quotes from the movie Night at the Museum:

Easter Island Head: Hey! Dum-dum!
Larry: Yes?
Easter Island Head: You give me gum-gum!
Larry: I give you gum-gum?
Easter Island Head: You new Dum-dum. You give me gum-gum.
Larry: Gee, okay, you know what? I have no gum-gum. Sorry. And my name isn't Dum-dum. My name's Larry.
Easter Island Head: No, your name Dum-dum.
[People screaming]
Easter Island Head: Oh, you in trouble, Dum-dum. You better run-run. From Attila the Hun-hun.
[Larry runs as Attila and his gang are chasing him]
Easter Island Head: See you later, Dum-dum!

  3. What a hoot! It looks like a lot of places carry this ice-cube tray and several other amusing types, including lego and starwars ice cube trays. I think I am going to get some of these for the sheer entertainment value!
