A Salute to Mrs. 'arris!

My brooch today features a bezel and a very sentimental image.
One of my all time favorite books is Mrs. 'Arris Goes to Paris.  A 1958 classic!  The plot revolves around Ada Harris, who is so enchanted by her employer's couture wardrobe that she becomes determined to go to the House of Dior in Paris to purchase an evening gown of her own.
I have always admired the illustrations.  Drawn by an illustrator named Gioia Fiammenghi I researched her to discover she also wrote and illustrated many children's books.
So I scanned the cover and made a few tweaks in photoshop so that I could have a permanent memento of the book.  I think Mrs. 'Arris would be very surprised to see herself on a piece of jewelry.
Oh, and just a comment.  I do not sell the art I show you here on the blog.  I always try to use copyright free imagery. This sentimental piece is only for me.
