The other day I showed a great way to get a marbled effect by adding Alcohol Inks to EnviroTex Lite®.
Today my project is, again, with alcohol inks and just a bit of Iridescent Powder...I love the result!
Materials:
Alcohol Ink: Denim
Iridescent Powder, Gold
Mixing cups
Stir sticks
Coaster mold
Toothpick
Lighter
Plastic to cover work surface
Instructions:
Measure equal amounts of the EasyCast® resin and hardener into mixing cup. Mix for 2 minutes...
and then, pour into a second mixing cup and stir for 1 minute. Add a drop or two of white pigment. Spray mold with mold release.
Pour the resin into the mold to about 1/4". Use a lighter to remove any air bubbles that may rise to the top. Set aside for 12 hours.
Mix EasyCast® as described above and pour into the mold.
Add a couple drops of alcohol ink...
and then, a bit of iridescent powder.
Pull the colors through the resin with a toothpick...
until you get the look you want, knowing that is may move a bit while it drys. Use a lighter to remove any air bubbles that may rise to the top. Set aside for 24 hours.
Remove from the mold.
