Resin Shell Tray

EnviroTex Lite is the perfect product to use when making beautiful serving trays...

I thought I should use up some shells we have collected over the years on the beach in Florida (where my parents live) to create a beautiful memory tray for my mom!

Here's how I made it:

Supplies:
Wooden Serving Tray
Earth Safe Finishes Chalk it Up!, Blueberry
Ann Butler Design's Iridescents, Lagoon
Shells, assorted

Tools: Cups, Stir Stick, Paint Brush, Lighter

I painted the inside and out of the tray with Blueberry and let it dry.
Then, I painted a coat of Lagoon over the Blueberry and let it dry.

I measured out equal amounts of the EnviroTex Lite resin and hardener.

I poured the together...

and stirred for 2 minutes.  Then, I poured the mixture into a new cup and stirred for an additional minute.  I poured this into the bottom of the prepared tray.  I let this set up for about 10 minutes then, I added the shells where I wanted them to go.  I used a lighter to remove the air bubbles that rose to the top and let this set for 12 hours.  Then I mixed up some resin and applied it over the top and let it set for another 12 hours and repeated with a third coat.

The tray turned out beautiful and all of the shells in it were found while we were walking along the beach. so this is a beautiful memory tray...
