Jewelry Clay for Mason Jar Projects

These may be the cutest jars ever!  I have been wanting to do a mason jar project for a while and this summer I plan to do a lot of outdoor spray painting.
My project began with two very old plastic dogs and two mason jars.  I knew that I could fit their paws on the mason jar top.
I made a batch of Jewelry Clay and placed a little on each metal disk.
See how the paws are nicely embedded?  I wanted this to look like ground cover.
Then I realized a big mistake!  The jar twist section did not fit over the dogs!  So I removed them from the clay, added the second half of the lid and pressed their paws back into the clay.  Whew, disaster averted!
After the clay cured overnight I simply took them outside and spray painted my whole project!
