This clear unicorn paper weight is impossible for me to photograph. I tried it a dozen times.
I did want to share my find with you.
I found him in my local antique market and assumed that this was glass. It isn't, it feels just like resin!
On the reverse the artisan or machine (since I do not know if this was handcrafted) etched in some space and embedded some flowers. The unicorn was simply carved. The carved lines create the shape and shadows.
Isn't it so effective?
Not a bit of colour accept for the tiny white flowers.
This has inspired me to do something simple with clear resin this summer.

ReplyDeleteI met someone online a few years ago that did carving into resin. It looked like quite the process. She said it was very toxic, so you have to take precautions. But I don't know who it was for the life of me now...she sold her pieces on ebay.
