Here is my latest necklace featuring two bezels from Spellbinder's
Media Mixage line.
I did my first post featuring bezels from Spellbinders
a few weeks ago and I was thrilled to receive this care package from the company. The Artisan Explorer was designed to work with dies and bezels and as you can see from this project, they do make life so much easier!
The rectangle bezel set has a matching set of dies that allow you to cut imagery to fit your bezel perfectly. These copper coloured dies were easy to place on my postcard and therefore I could cut out portions of the card exactly the way I wanted too.
Isn't this perfection? No measuring on my part required! The machine does the cutting for you.
I sealed my postcard imagery into the bezel set using Aleenes Decoupage medium.
I was very generous with glue on the edges because the postcard is thick and I did not want to leave an area open for resin to seep in and stain sections later.
When all my sealing layers (3) were completely dry I also added some glitter glue to the edges.
I decided I would fill my bezels with Jewelry Resin
in two pours. The first resin pour filled the bezels to just about the half way mark.
When that resin layer was cured I added extra lines with gel marker and then did a second doming pour of resin.
My pieces are stunning! I am not sure what I will be doing with the larger bezel just yet. I think I may turn that one into a belt buckle!
