Hello everyone! Are your holiday resin gifts complete yet? I am still working on one or two projects. I thought I would share this unusual bezel shape with you today. This is one of Amate Studios new summer bezels releases.
You might notice that my paper and bezel are sitting on a mouse pad.
My bezel is an unusual shape, so I am going to press my bezel to the paper on the mousepad.
It is hard for you to see, but my paper now has a great impression from the bezel. I can cut out my image now and it will fit in the bezel.
I have applied three coats of Aleene's Matte Decoupage to seal my paper image. I am letting this completely dry overnight.
Studio doggie will wait with me so we can continue the project.
That is a very pretty shape! I can't wait to see the reveal. Give doggie a scritch for me, will you? Enjoy the day. Erin
ReplyDeleteLove the idea. Thank you and another skritch from me. The studio kittehs here say hi.
ReplyDeleteStudio doggie is so cute! I really appreciate your tips such as making an impression on the paper to cut the shape out, and on another post you shared the great idea of making a copy of the bezel to be able to cut the shape out--terrific! :)
ReplyDeleteTotally love that topnote shaped bezel. Looks like it is going to make a lovely necklace.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Can't wait to see the revel. Love your dog!!! Give him a scratch for me too.
ReplyDeleteLove the shape of the bezel! And thank you for sharing how to use a mousepad to create the shape! Great tip!!
ReplyDeleteLove Studio Doggie!

How brilliant is that...pressing the bezel into a mousepad-great idea and thank you!
ReplyDeleteIs this the best way to seal anything in preparation for resin? I have leaves that I have dried and I sealed the leaf then I punched out my shape and the sealant raised around the entire edge. Also did you seal both sides of the paper or is that the purpose of gluing it to bezel? Please help I'm at at stand still it seems.I have everything I need and most directions for the process itself but the sealing flowers and leaves paper etc I'm confused about.thanks great work btw
ReplyDeleteThis is what works for me. I glue my peice into the bezel and seal the exposed side three times. Dried flowers can be trickie. I would do a few test peices.
