I am starting to collect 70's imagery.
Well, let's be clear. I collect 60's, 50's, 40's and 30's too!
This box of greeting cards had the neatest collection of hairdos.
These are samples I am making to showcase during my classes at the Craft and Hobby show in January.
I like to have bright colorful samples.
Plus, this is a great example of why glitter glue edging can be so effective.
I like each of these pieces and may colour match them to necklaces too!
I used Envirotex Lite for these pieces.
I love these! Did you use the original cards, or did you copy and shrink them?
ReplyDeleteI scanned, corrected colour and then shrunk them!
ReplyDeleteThis is super cuteness overload. I LOVE these charms.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favourite blog posts! SO CUTE.
ReplyDeleteas a child of the 70's I definitely remember this style from cards! Awesome charms!
ReplyDeleteAdorable!!
ReplyDeleteWhere do you get the pendants to use??
These are so wonderful love the pendants :)
ReplyDeleteScan, copy and shrink! What an awesome idea! Now I feel like I can do anything! I also love how you highlighted their adorable hair-dos with the gel pens. :)
ReplyDeleteJust a little reminder. I don't sell the jewelry I make, but if I did I would see about getting permission to use these images first, before I sold a pendant.
ReplyDeleteThose bring back so many memories! I had a box of these and wrote notes to my friends. What an awesome find. So wish you could make a digital image sheet from these. I would purchase in a heartbeat! I so love your blog. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteCarmi, I've seen you use gel pens in a number of your lovely creations (and these are no exception!), but I don't think that you've mentioned a particular brand. Are there any recommendations?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Sakura is the brand I usually buy. Michaels Crafts Stores sells them ($$$)..although today I found a glitter pen from Sharpie I will be testing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info, Carmi. I hope that Santa sees this info and places a few under the tree!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing the results of your glitter pen testing.
Cheers,
Sharon
Those are so cute! I remember my mom having those cards. Brings back so many memories.
ReplyDeleteSweet! How do you decide when to use envirotex lite and when to use the jewelry resin?
ReplyDeleteWould you believe I am out of Jewelry Resin? I am just waiting for a new order...so this month I am using Envirotex Lite. Jewelry Resin is my first choice for working in bezels....that is what it was designed for...but Envirotex Lite was my first love...so I have no problem using it too!
