Faux Stained Glass With Envirotex Lite - Part Two

Van Gogh lives here!  I hung my little hoops in my studio window.  It is such a dark and rainy day...and yet my faux stain glass glows with colour!  Imagine it on a sunny day!
Yesterday I showed you how I applied Envirotex Lite to one side of the paper.
Then I applied it to the other side.  Already the paper was brighter than ever!  The addition of Envirotex Lite does two things:  makes the paper brighter and adds UV protection!
I wanted to remind you that as always, everything you use with resin must be thrown away.  I buy paint brushes anywhere I see them on sale.  It is helpful to keep a stash on hand!
I painted the wood hoops gold too!

  1. I love this! :) I've been following your blog to learn how to use resin and I'm finding it really helpful. Does the paper stay flexible at all after coating with the resin, or is it rigid? Thanks for all your great info.

  2. It was pretty flexible since I bent it into the hoop at about the 12 hour cure point...it will be really solid now that it's been 48 hours. I am glad I did not wait any longer. It was about as thick as one of those outdoor tablecloths. Hope that helps!

  3. Wait, why are you throwing brushes away after using resin? Can't you clean it? Isn't that really wasteful? Isn't there a better way, because I would imagine resin is toxic to the environment.

  4. The paint brushes, like anything you pour resin into will harden and cure...washing them would be very difficult. I keep some of my "resoned" paintbrushes and actually use them in my art...or you could just remove the bristles and use the stick for something else.

  5. Are you using regular enviotex or the envirotex UV resin? I am only asking because I would love to get the non yellowing uv envirotex resin and have been trying to find a source for it. I work with white porcelain and resin, and the yellowing makes too much of an effect with the regular enviotex.

  6. I am using the regular Envirotex Lite! I'll see if there is a recommendation for you.
