Beautiful Resin Jewelry Sample

This necklace has intrigued me since the moment I saw it in the window of a Paris store front.  I knew it was resin but it definitely looks a lot like glass.
I love the embedded poem.  It carries across all the pieces in French.
This is resin genius!
It inspires me to do great new things!

  1. Very very cool. How do you think it was done without using a base with sides?

  2. Carmi, was that printed on after the resin was done? The other question I have? There is a product out called Preserve Your Memories II. It's for protecting scrapbooking items. It's water proof after you spray it. It has to be done outside because the smell is pretty strong. I was wondering if you were familiar with it and if you think resin could be done over it instead of using Mod-Podge? I use it on polymer clay and it works great. I guess I'll have to experiment with it. I was just worried about the two chemicals reacting.

  3. That necklace cinches it for me - have to try something with the resin. It will be a major statement piece that no one else will ever have and I won't share where I got it - well, OK, only how it was made.
    Thanks for the inspiration.

  4. Hi guys, I have an idea how this was done...but have no idea how they poured and contained such thin strips. Hi Bonnie, sorry, I have not tried that spray. You are going to have to test and let us know!

  6. Carmi, could this have been poured in a flat pan and then cut and sanded after it cured?

    1. No...not yet. So odd that your comment came in because I literally just held this in my hand earlier today. I have an idea.....just no time to execute it!
